mass-hole
Is anyone running the flush whisbar kit on their car with a snowboard/ski rack? Is there plenty of clearance for snowboard bindings so that they dont hit the roof if the board is upside-down? Thanks a lot
.Catalyst.
I'm interested in this information as well as I've been looking at the Whispbar flush kit with the Fatcat 6 setup. I saw an Audi running the Whispbar flush setup and it appeared to have plenty of room for binders when oriented upside down (as long as the backs are folded in). mass-hole
It seems to be the nicest looking kit out there from what I have seen. Just wanna check this before i drop the loot for it.
mhoran89
I am running q-towers w/ round bars and the fat cat 6. I do have clearance problems especially towards the middle (highest part) of the roof. You can angle the rack up on one side for clearance purposes because the fat cat 6 is a low profile (for wind) design...
mhoran89
Here are a few pictures of the fat cat 6 up on my ride: http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab189/mhoran89/2011%20Subaru%20Legacy/IMG_1248.jpg http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab189/mhoran89/2011%20Subaru%20Legacy/IMG_1245.jpg http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab189/mhoran89/2011%20Subaru%20Legacy/IMG_1244.jpg
mhoran89
Here is one that is raised on one side like I mentioned earlier. You can do this with the fat cat 6 if you need... http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/390809_645922439640_54905355_33044533_499059331_n.jpg
mass-hole
I went with the whispbar/fat cat 6 combo. I got the through bar S16 kit, waiting on the fat cat and the fit kit since no one in the entire continental US has stocked the correct kit yet.(K165 for the 05-09) The bars are VERY cool and look like they will be dead silent. They are shaped just like an aircraft wing, so much so that they look like they may create lift at highway speeds.

Is there plenty of clearance for snowboard bindings so that they dont hit the roof if the board is upside-down? Thanks a lot I do have the Prorack Whispbar [before it was bought by yakima] kit (currently off of my car). I do not have a snowboard or ski rack. I use it for my bicycles. Shoot me a PM and I'll be more than happy to take a few measurements.
