AVCS or turbo kaboom with clogged banjo bolt filter on driver side ??

Recommended Posts

As the title says..

We have a banjo bolt filter on the driver side behind the timing belt cover. If that sucker gets clogged (even partially), what problems are we looking at or possible symptoms? AVCS not performing well thereby poor idling??

usually if there is debris in the oil it will kill both the turbo and ocv at the same time. the turbo banjo is separate from the ocv but like i said, if you gets clogged, the other is likely to be clogged as well since they're both fed by the same line from the back of the head.

Luckily most of us have survived with just the one filter removed. May be its where it is on the oil system.

When I got the P0011 and P0021 CEL's my trusted mechanic said they remove the one in the passenger side head to fix the problem.

In case you missed it, my turbo began to whine shortly there after. I replaced it before it blew.
