mightyS
Hi. I am wondering if I need a better cat back exhaust before going stage 3. I have a Cobb catted downpipe and a STi up-pipe. I have been at stage 2 for a few years. Now I am getting a FP 68HTA turbo. Would an aftermarket cat back system allow for more power or just more noise? Does anyone have graphs to show the power difference? I found this post that shows many graphs after mods were made: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/pdxtuning-legacy-tuning-wrapup-13536.html?t=13536 For stage 2 with a bigger tmic and a downpipe, a cat back did not produce more power over stock. TRSCobra
You don't need the catback, but with a larger than stock turbo, it will free up some HP. The stock catback simply doesn't flow enough at high rpm's with a bigger turbo.
ruggerheist
i would suggest going catless
LouzGT
It definitely is a restriction tho
XRJoe
i would suggest going catless X2. You're going to get much more top-end going catless and will help spool on a larger turbo.
