FS: Salomon Skis and boots $300

BAC5.2

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a new pair of skis/boots/bindings, so it's time to retire my old setup.

They are a pair of Salomon 1080 twin-tip Skis in 169cm length. There are a pair of Salomon S850 bindings mounted on them. The boots are a Size 28.0 Salomon 1080.

The top sheet on the skis is a little banged up, but there are no scratches or dents on the bottom, and the edges are free of big gouges. The bindings have some surface scratches, but worked perfectly when I last used the skis.

I used these skis exclusively on the east coast, and you can see by the cut that these aren't really a powder-ski. in a few years, but had them tuned up again before putting them away. I'd say it's been about 3 years since I last used them.

They come with a ski-bag, but I didn't take a picture of it. It's a red Soloman bag. No poles.

I was going to keep these around as a pair of rock-skis in Colorado, but don't have any desire to ship them out there. I'm really looking for a local sale only.

$300 for everything picked up.

Nice setup I just bought a set of K2 Impact Rocker AT's (160cm) 2012 model didnt go for the Richter (metal laminate, higher model) b/c i love the responsiveness of the tri-weave construction in moguls. Got Marker MX11 bindings and Lange boots

I wanted better boots but finding a M32 boot in the exact model is difficult.

I love those K2s as i had Rossignol Cuts in 167 (very flexible compared to the new k2.

What setup did you go with to replace this one ??

I replaced them with a pair of 2012 Blizzard Bushwacker's in 173. I run Knee Carbon bindings, and I've got a pair of Technica Dragon 110 boots. On the whole, it's a great setup. Very responsive, and a LOT of fun. I was a bit worried about the length, but I'm happy I went with a slightly longer ski than I usually use.

Yeah i ran 173's once early on in skiing (im 6'3" 180lbs) found it tough to rotate them in moguls so i dropped to 160s to develop my skills then back to 167's i like 167 its the happy medium btw high speed stability and zero speed agility

I understand your pain and grief  I can board no problem but i LOVE LOVE LOVE to ski

I'm torn between the two. I enjoy both but I was always better at skiing. If I'm going with my uncle or cousins I would use skis but with my family it's snowboards

I tried snowboarding for about 45 minutes. Almost broke my wrist, so I gave it up.

Gee - When I FIRST tried skiing, I was pretty young and they put me on a set of 170's. It was OK. As I got older, I kept getting bigger skis, finally running 178's. When I bought skis (these), I decided to take the jump down the scale and was not disappointed. These were extremely lively and extremely fun.

I wasn't going to get the 173, but I was convinced otherwise on the demo. They were a bit long in the tail, but felt great overall. Especially in jumps. We did some heavy Colorado Double-Blacks, and they really popped out of the bumps. It was a great ski. I hit 62mph that weekend, and it was as stable as if I were getting off the ski lift.

But these are still for sale! I'll consider shipping them, if anyone is really interested.

Otherwise, I might put them up on ebay.
