Watch out for:

Prepaid maintenance ~$1900

• This is something they said they have never seen anyone pass on. Said if you prepay for the scheduled maintenance, you save a lot of money… maybe you save in the dealership world… Example: first service (3,750 miles) they charge ~$360; local shop w/great reputation ~$60. This is because the dealership is putting a value on the 'inspections' that are typically included with a standard oil change. They also said that you can only find the required Subaru Synthetic at the dealership. Blatant lie.

Clear Bra $888

• Local shop w/great reputation should do it for a little over $500.

Dents/scratches (5 yrs) $479

• I’m good, thanks.

Extended Warranty (7rs) ~$1500

• Nope.

Other:

Tire exchange

• I have no use for the summer tires that come on the car... after researching, I found out Bridgestone will give credit for lightly used tires if you are in any way dissatisfied.. the only catch is you have to use the credit towards another set of Bridgestones. Discount Tire (local tire shop and Bridgestone dealer) took care of the call for me (after I told them what tire I want.. which is the only UHP All-Season tire Bridgestone offers), and since the summers that come on the car are worth more than the ones I want, they gave a full credit. I will be putting on Potenza RE970 AS Pole Positions very soon (going to put the miles on the summers before I need the all-seasons this weekend).

Front license plate request

• Requested them not to drill.

Just picked up my 2012 LGT 2 days ago.

Final Price Before = $29,757

State Tax 6% = $1797.36

Tags/Fee/Tire Recycling Fee/Title Fee = $350.50

TOTAL out the door: $31,904.86

OPTIONS included in $29,757

Auto-Dim Mirror/Comp $186.00

STI Short Throw Shifter $499.00

Trunk Cargo Net Set $65.00

Wheel Locks $51.00

Like Ziptiecloud, I purchased no extended warranty, no maintenance contract.

This car is difficult to find. According to dealer/manager, there were only 17 LGT available for purchase in the entire USA the day I bought this car (not sure he was right). 9 had NAV option, 8 did not (one of which is mine now).

So for 2 days, car has been doing well. Just trying to read all the posts on cool-down or not (seems like not necessary with current turbo design). Still haven't decided whether to bring back to dealer for maintenance or go to my regular mechanic. Am favoring the latter option.

A 7yr warranty extension for 1500$ when you've already got 35k into it? Maybe you're not thinking of keeping it that long or what it covers is bs, but seems like a no brainer to me. Then again, I'm not a fix-it guy either.
