DoDo1975
Anyone have any tricks to seating the fuel injector into the fuel rail? I have my new injector in, but can't get it seated nicely. It seems like the difficulty is the o-ring. It is cylinder #4 on a 2005 lgt so its a little difficult getting in there with hands, but I twisted in with a fair amount of pressure and I just can't get it to seat. Any tricks or tips? Turkeylord
I used the butt end of a screwdiver when I did mine Friday night, but I've also read that an O2 sensor socket works well. *edit* Oh, and I also used a thin coat of motor oil on the o-rings. ClimberDHexMods
I just lubed mine up a bit and pushed them on in there. No problems. Maybe your o-rings are not as compliant. I used the injector clamp down to force them to seat properly. Wondering if the cold o-rings were just more difficult to compress. Did your car run really rough for a while after installing? Does it take the ECU a while to compensate?
Turkeylord
Mine ran great right away. Did you cycle the key a few times to prime the fuel system before cranking it over?
DoDo1975
No, but after 10-15 minutes everything settled down and it is runnin nicely now.
DoDo1975
Code is back and its running rough again. Lasted about 1 week. Misfire cylinder 4. Trying to determine next steps, MAF or coil pack or something else? Been reading the misfire thread but it is really convoluted and a litte scary.
