Is a Turbo Inlet Hose worth the $$$

So which companies would you consider to be quality brands?

We like the Samco and AVO products. The even better ones are from APS, which unfortunately stopped selling their products in the US. :(

Subaru :hide:

I think the Perrin (there are 2 versions out there and some don't fit the 05-06/07-09) and AVO are the only two that have some consistency in fit, AVO being better.

Perrin revised it this past year to work with the newer WRX/07-09 LGT that have relocated SAI solenoids. I had an issue with the new version since I have a 05. The older version (years 05-06) have the spigot located closer to the turbo inlet and the newer (years 07-09) is about a inch further from turbo inlet. I talked to Jeff Perrin about the issue using the newer version on 05-06 LGTs to may be notate it on the instructions. Using a heat gun on the return hose to stretch it a bit and use a standard hose clamp on the spigot makes life a lot easier if installing the Perrin on an 05-06.

You would be better off repeatedly punching yourself in the face then spending time trying to install a GMS inlet.

I have a new OEM inlet on my car. ;)

Yeah this inlet is soo bad i put the inlet on the turbo before putting the turbo on the up pipe....

If i had the money for anything else at the time, i would have went for it.

To be honest i'm going FMIC injectors, fuel pump tgv deletes and another turbo inlet pipe. as my next round of mods... i figure if i'm planning on taking the intake off might as well put a TIP worth a crap on the engine.

are there any of the hard ones that fit a legacy worth a crap?

Between Agency Power, APS and now AMR, APS is the winner on hard inlets. The have the bends and lengths correct (huge issue on the other 2) and actually give you all the hardware to put it in. I ended up making my own stuff for the vacuum lines so it would fit better. The Agency Power one was to wide a pipe, was to long and was crushing the silicone coupler, and the AMR just didnt fit.

But unfortunately they were made for the WRX, so the little nipples for vacuum reference arent in the best locations. But the recirc line one is in the right spot and for the most part does work. Between all the ones we have installed the AVO was the easiest and fit the best. Plus no intake manifold removal.
