abk105
Hey guys im one of those new subbie people and i want to put an STI turbo into my car and i was wondering what id need to do to the fuel delivery to handle the turbo. Sadly it has a 5 speed auto in it and i was wondering if i had to do any work to that too. Could the Cobb Up and down pipe for the 05 LGT still fit it even with the STI turbo.....any help is greatly appreciated thanks
Drift Motion
why? have you done any research at all?
contractkiller
I would imagine that the Cobb DP would fit as long as you bought one for the corresponding year STi that the turb came off of. The engine bays should be about same so that shouldnt be an issue. The UP on the other hand, well I have no idea. what did u mean when you said. it felt like i was driving a civic? did u mean the car felt like it was more dependable and it was getting better mpg's? LosAngelesLGT
well I have no idea. Yes i have done research and looked around im just getting outside opinions before i start going crazy Don't pretend that you have done research when its quite clear that you have not even read the basic STICKIES in the subforums. Read them so you don't look like a n00b. Here are a few to start: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/begin-modifications-your-legacy-gt-19037.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/unofficial-legacy-gt-stage-upgrade-definitions-48123.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/official-tuning-thread-80345.html /thread

bmx045
another one of these god damn threads? why would you want to make your LGT fast like an STi? The STi powertrain is too fast for the legacy chassis.

LouzGT
All you need is a fmic that will fit and sti turbo and the turbo you won't make as much power because u have an auto, at least up top. As for the turbo itself as long as its the stock location turbo you could run any 05-09 lgt downpipe, and 08+ wrx/sti aftermarket dp fit ours cars too. All 02+ wrx/sti/lgt uppipes all are the same fitment AFAIK. But your year lgt has a catted uppipe you want to get a catless one

Claw
Yes, it'll work. Here's a good place to start: Without the rear end downforce you're not gonna get the grip required to spool up the STI turbo.

abk105
I dont get why people get so harsh on forums sometimes to new guys. Thanks for the pics Scubbie B4. The list helps alot....thanks to other people who were helpful on this post and not a jacka**
joeblow
We get harsh on the noobs because the same questions pop up all the time (there have been 3 or 4 stage two threads in the last week alone). A quick search and a lot of reading will usually clear up a lot of the questions people have. STi turbos bolt right up to the LGT UP and DP, but the turbo to IC connection is different and will require a FMIC (which will decrease turbo response since the air has t otravel further through the piping) or manifold swap. Reducing lag can be accomplished by porting and polishing the turbo, replacing the headers, EWG, smaller turbo, etc. It's cool; I'm with the band
abk105
Oh ok that makes sense. I might go with what Scubbie B4's set up with the STI TMIC the VF48 and some cobb parts like the AP to top it off......
bmx045
lmao. you do know you'll need a custom tune for that AP right? waste of money considering an open source tune would be cheaper than the cost of an AP + custom tune
