compsurge
From what I've read, and based on your setup, go stock heads (valves and cams) and be happy. Have a machine shop inspect the heads, adjust the valve shims as required, slap on new head gaskets & studs to a ej257 block or rebuilt ej255 and go home smiling. Also make sure to thoroughly clean the oil cooler or buy a new one to prevent any metal contaminants from ruining your system.
frank_ster
I would love to buy a cosworth long block or even a short block but I don't have 15 grand laying around lol yea but the cosworth is just as sensitive to oil contaminites in the oil system. Now that's thinking out of the boxer! fyi all 05 + legacy's have built in code reader
01rs25
Even if you don't buy the Cosworth short/long block. I would still recommend there pistons! They are by far the quietest 'Forged' pistons that I've ever heard. Sounds like stock! There bearings aren't a bad investment either. Slammed more than your girlfriend. frank_ster
yea, weisco pistons are noisy too, i was suprised. but weisco's are about 540$ for a set, and there well made and reliable. jmon4200
Youll definately know if your motors knocking. If it is then its time for a new short block. When my wrx spun a bearing i used cp pistions, eagle rods, and acl coated bearings. motor ran great.
