Sean05 Posted November 7, 2011 Share Posted November 7, 2011 I have had a strange knocking noise occurring when the engine is cold and the turbo starts to spool. It sounds as though it's coming directly from turbo area. I have posted a video, you can just make it out starting around the 4 sec mark. Anyone have an idea what it might be? Max Capacity Posted November 13, 2011 Share Posted November 13, 2011 IMO it's not the turbo, the engine sounds ok, that sounds more plastic to me. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
