DirtyDan
I don't quite understand how our TPMS works. I got a suggestion from some rock crawler friends on how truck guys get around the idiot light, but I don't know if it would work on our cars. The truck guys take all their sensors and put them inside a piece of pvc pipe, drill a hole in one end and stick a valve stem in, then seal all the sensors inside. Using the valve stem, pressurize the container and toss the thing under the seat. That way the sensors never know when they let the air down for rock crawling or sand. I know when my car dash light came on, just airing the tire up didn't turn it off until I started driving. So my question is: Is there a centrifugal detector in the sensor that turns it on or is the control unit finding the signal? Anybody know?
Mr. Sinister
Yes, the sensors need to spin to be be activated. Search the wheels/tires section if you want detailed info as this has been covered many times.
DirtyDan
I did do a search, but not in tires and wheels. Oh well, I thought that was how they worked. Too bad, it sure would make things easier for 2 sets of wheels.
