AZP Installs
What did you swap a RS to a WRX/STi ? Yup, Jake when he first started with us took an 04 STi that had been hit in the B-pillar and swapped it over to his 02 bugeye RS. It took him a month of working his butt off on it with no lift but it came out perfect. He basically gutted both cars down to the frame and moved over each part one nut and bolt at a time. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg Call directly for your best Whiteline Price! | We also carry almost every manufacturer now, so before you buy parts call us. ChemicalWaste
Swap VIN with a dealership and call it a day. My stepdad was a mechanic as well. We looked at the wiring from a 98 LGT-2002 WRX, 98-2005 LGT, 98 LGT to any STi. I am the proud owner of a 2005 GT Limited. Those guys at Subaru can make a car more reliable and cheaper than your brother can and faster too. Don't get me wrong, if the guy i sold my 98 to wants to do a swap into it I will be there with my tools ready to help, but it's not going to be my car. AZP Installs
What a learning experience that would be and oddly I think I would prefer to do it that way! Yup, it taught him every aspect of the car. The advantage of doing it that way for us at least, is that electrically the ECU still thinks it IS an 04 STi. There was not one single CEL thrown on the car after the swap. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg Call directly for your best Whiteline Price! | We also carry almost every manufacturer now, so before you buy parts call us. AZP Installs
What a learning experience that would be and oddly I think I would prefer to do it that way! I can say it took every once of energy I had to keep the car during the swap It is a long and tedious process but when I was done and driving it home for the first time it was probably my biggest accomplishment up to that point. I know where every system is, what size every bolt is, and if something goes wrong I know where to start looking. However the reason I would suggest against a swap (any car/model) is that if you aren't going to do it 100% correct, don't do it. Just buy another car. You can get a car running very easily but having it useable are two VERY different things. It took me a good 6 months of using the car to find all the little issues before I called the swap done. So moral of the story, swaps are cool, but do it right. -Jake http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg Call directly for your best Whiteline Price! | We also carry almost every manufacturer now, so before you buy parts call us.
