BigTDogg MA
castrol syntec for sure My car has been drinking this oil, 1 quart or so, doing oil change this weekend at about 3800. Probably going to go Rotella T6 5W-
specialB
http://www.shopthedude.com/filedb/7/7/16477.png I've been using castrol synthetic 5W30 since I bought the car 40,000 miles ago and I stick to it and change it every 5K. Just did my clutch and checked the turbo shaft play while the DP was off and there was no play whatsoever at 71K. I feel a little guilty going 5K intervals seeing all you guys go 3-4K on average. Heck I figure that our cars take 4.5 quarts or so of engine oil with a 2.5L engine. My old Hemi ram was a 5.7 liter and only took just shy of 6 quarts of oil and changed it every 3K, more than double the displacement and less than double the oil I figure 5K intervals doesn't hurt. HAMMER DOWN
Don't feel guilty, I run 15k OCI, with Amsoil 0w-30 SSO & Ea oil filters. My car as 7qt. oil system. I have 177k. Check shaft play at 174K & there was non. Mike Mileage:331487 Retired/Sold

ehsnils
Cosworth recommends Mobil 1 EP 15w-50 But I assume that's for the highly prepped engines... Not quite what I would select for winter use.

BigTDogg MA
Very unusual. Is what it is. Drank more with this oil than the M1 HM or Subaru oil before. Changed to T6 5W-40 and so far the car seems very happy.
bmx045
I suppose the heavier oil helps with consumption, maybe your rings are ancient.
BigTDogg MA
The whole car is ancient, it has 110K miles on it.
