Purchasing a 97 Legacy Outback

Recommended Posts

I now own a 97 Outback. :p

Never owned a Subbie

1st day and I am already in love with this machine.

Spent 3 hours detailing the interior. (my buddy had kids)

It looks great and the engine compartment is almost spotless!!!!

The story on the car ended up being this.

One owner, (not counting my buddy) some lady about 15 miles away from me. I have her name. All the original paperwork was in the glove box.

One local Subaru dealer sold it and took it back in on a trade in.

My buddy gets it from the Subaru dealer 30K miles ago and sells it to me. (He already has 4 vehicles and wants a new truck)

So now, I am going to contact the dealer and get the history of the car.

The car has automatic tranny, factory air, tilt, cruise, pulse wipers, electric windows, heated seats, etc,

brand new tires,

New battery (really good battery with a 5 year warranty),

New plug wires, valve cover gasket (dealer did this),

Really nice sounding stereo system and speakers but it's a AM/FM casette player (old school)

Can't even remember the last time I held a casette in my hand?

Have not had time to crawl around under it

It has been raining for two days

Maybe a couple days from now I can get a look under the car.

Took it for a couple short drives

Very happy so far and so are my dogs.

The black one was not this dirty when I let her in the car.
