bemani
Why are there so many of those fake plastic screws on the Legacy? Weight saving? Cost cutting? Those things are everywhere, and I hate working on them
coolbluelb
So if they are not real plastic, then what are they??? :?:
CombatCQB
bemani means fake as in not metal screws. The plastic screws are nylon and usually used for trims and panels. bemani, are they just the screw or screw with an attached anchor? Sometimes they're time saving devices for the installer and it could cost less, not sure thou. One thing for sure, they won't rust on ya. Subaru will have to used stainless or galvanized screws if they want them to hold up in the winter. And those are expensive. I've heard MB and Lexus use galvanized screws, but you're paying for it too.
Dr. Zevil
Not to mention they are relatively cheap when you break them, of course if they weren't plastic they wouldn't break... my brain hurts.
