SpecBamf41
So was doing my teachers TB maintence and all that and fixed a rattle, low oil, coolent, and im positve he has rod knock. now i notice on rockauto you can buy over size bearings. or stock. is it possible. if the knock is not to bad, that you can drop the oil pan and pop a new bearing in? stock size or oversize? johnegg
are you sure it is rod knock? the tensioners can make a knocking sound when they get old. just before they fail.
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted September 25, 2011 I Donated Share Posted September 25, 2011 If its a rod knock, you can't just throw oversized bearings in there. You're suppose to machine the crank to make it smooth again. When you do that....metal basically gets grinded off of the crank....so THEN you use oversized bearings to fill in the gap -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
