PearlBlueGT
So I need a new ECU (CEL is on for evap solenoid and it's in good condition) How much does it run?
bmx045
The ecu was probably making the ticking noise, you really should replace it. Ecu's from the dealer are towards $600. Find a used one.
Lardo420
you should just buy a new car
lieutenantcolumbo
$110 used off ebay for an '05, but do your due diligence and make sure its compatible. Would think other model years would be comparable price. Dealer has to link it up for you though due to the immobilizer issue. Here you go. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3984Q2em1423Q2el2649QQitemZ230513837438QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEWAXQ3aIT Also you can find a ton more by going to: http://www.car-part.com Good luck. Sure sounds like throwing parts at the car. Have you checked the wiring and other related items. A CEL does not always mean change a part.

PearlBlueGT
I'm glad to have it fixed too. I have found Subaru mechanic who is very knowledgeable and works at Subaru. Dealers wanted $750-$900 for the ECU, got it off of Ebay for $100 shipped.
