Help Needed ASAP - Looking for reputable Subaru repair in Phoenix area

Hey all,

A friend of mine was seriously rear-ended in her new 2011 Outback. USAA is not totaling the car, but she has not had it gone-through by a good Subaru mechanic yet and I told her to hold off on proceeding with the repairs until I could check-in with you all and hear your recommendations on which Subaru dealership to take it to. I honestly believe that once all of the mechanical issues are accounted for, this will be a total-out.

She bought the car at Camelback Subaru and when she called the General Manager and talked to him, he said that he'd get the Service Manager to call her and have the car checked out there. Three days later nothing heard, so she called the Service Manager who knew nothing about the car and had heard nothing from the GM. Then the Service Manager said that he'd call her back about setting up some time to get the car in and she has heard nil from him.

In my experience, also born out by my 25-year Subaru master tech, almost any major rear-end accident results in systemic damage to the AWD system. Her car has bent/crushed frame rails, bent rear cross-member/diff mount, and the exhaust system is hamburger. Can't imagine that everything ahead of all that was immune from the impact.

Any recommendations are appreciated, even if it's an independent Subaru mechanic - though dealer would be preferred - so she can get this resolved. She feels, and having seen the pictures I agree, that she'll never feel comfortable in this car again. While she's grateful she was in a Subaru, she's not going to keep this one and will be looking for another. Just needs to get "everything" related to the crash, body and mechanical damage, accounted for and she doesn't have that right now.

Names, phone numbers, etc., all appreciated. LMK if you have anything that I can pass along. Here's just a few of the rear shots.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Here's a good link from Nabisco: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1444738

Cliff Note version, Subaru Superstore of Chandler is hands down the favorite around there. Not sure if any of the indie shops do body repair but FAT is great for drivetrain schtuff. And like you/she is finding Camelback has a sh**y rep all around.

Shocked the car isn't totaled. Even if it doesn't meet the 90% rule it won't ever be worth much regardless of the quality of the repair. I personally would push for a new/used replacement.

GL, hope she is OK!
