alotaboost
Ok, I am looking at purchasing an silver 05 limited wagon 5eat. here are my questions the car has a few upgrades. from what I can see it has a equal length header, up-pipe, cat-less down pipe, CBE, (not sure what brands) and a K&N CAI. The car is at a dealership and has a check engine light. does the car need a tune? at least to get rid of the CEL? I am not sure if the car already has some sort of tune already or not. the car feels pretty good, a lot better than a stock one that I drove. what other things should I be concerned about? the car has 68k miles and they are asking 15.9k
nm
I wouldn't pay $16k. And I certainly wouldn't buy a car with all that and no tune. And that car clearly has no tune as all tunes I've seen supress the CEL. I'd avoid modified cars as a rule and poorly modified cars as a hard rule. alotaboost
yeah, generally I do avoid modded cars. but finding a clean wagon is pretty rough LoL
Beanboy
Could be the last owner had an AP. Unmarried it and the stock tune is picking up issues with the lack of cat in UP, or O2 sensors is catless DP. Bunch of codes could be thrown. -B http://www.standardshift.com
alotaboost
that's kind of what I've been thinking beanboy. He had the AP, took it off and traded it in before the codes showed up.
