almostinvincible119
I'm assuming that my problem is a CV, but how do I pinpoint which one? I have a bad shake throughout the car/steering wheel when turning, and even veering left at highway speeds. Anything over 55 and the car shakes violently. I also am under the impression that the halfshafts are interchangeable so the left and right will fit either side...correct? Thanks for the help guys! Max Capacity
Hey you know they may be interchangeable but you need to buy a new one for that side any ways. When I had mine out when I pulled the tranny I put them back in, in the same side. I had replaced my left front last Aug so it was easy to tell the OEM one from the aftermarket one. There is a walk through in one of the forums here. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. lee07
Loose lug nuts, lost wheel balance weights
Guest PeteAWD
First, I would definitely check to see if the wheels are bent, and if not verify the balancing before delving into half-shafts. Mine is very sensitive to wheel balancing, if it isn't done right, I take it back make the shop do them again.
almostinvincible119
I know the lugs arent loose, but wouldn't the wheel weights affect straight line stability as well as turning. This ONLY happens when veering or turning left at 55mph+ and it DOES NOT happen when turning right
almostinvincible119
And Max, i know how to change them, I guess I'm just lookin for an accurate way to determine which one is bad without playing the switcharoo taking one off and puttin it back on. You know?
