Mr. Sinister
I'd go stock 215/45/17. Check out this thread for other options: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/faq-offsets-sizes-rims-and-tires-gt-xenonk-version-4426.html
BigTDogg MA
235/40/17 or 225/45/17. The STI BBS are 7.5 wide, so 215s are a waste.
mk6933
235s are too wide for 7.5. The widest you should go is 225s.

Mr. Sinister
Actually, stock size for 04 STI BBS 7.5 wide wheels was 225/45/17. I know, but stock for an LGT is 215/45/17, which will fit the BBSs fine and the speedo will be correct.
BigTDogg MA
235s are too wide for 7.5. The widest you should go is 225s. Nah, 235 will be just fine on a 7.5. 225 is fine on 7", so add 10mm of tire for 12.7mm of wheel and you're in good shape.

BigTDogg MA
read somewhere that a 215 would need to be stretched to fit... is this true... lookin to buy some conti extreme contact dws... It won't be stretched, but it's not using all the available wheel width for maximum rubber. The DWS has got some wonderful reviews, though some have complained about soft sidewalls leading to mushy feeling.
SubieTrader
Don't take the DWS on the track or drive them hard in the mountains, ultra high performance Z rated or not! I honestly knew better but didn't have the time to swap to a better tire before my track day. I figured with only 5k miles on them they would make it through the day and then I'd rotate them. Nope. The positive is that I blew past several cars that cost twice what my LGT cost (M3's and S6). The good news is my new Michelin Pilot Super Sports should be up to some autox and light track use. The Bad: The good (should have dialed the Koni's up to full):
