B4_Maniac
I took my car to be detailed and have the dents removed today. The detailer I use is very reputable. While waxing the front bumper, he noticed a discoloration in the paint under the driver side head lamp. The paint and the clear coat was perfect but the area under the lamp by the bumper looked as if the paint machine ran out out pigment in that area. I took a picture of it, but I would like to say, the gray area is not a reflection of light, there is actuly less black pigment in that area then the rest of the car. I told the dealership, so hopefully they will notify some one. I think this is because the paint department for the new leggy is new, and there are some bugs to work out in Indiana. Dr. Zevil
I think that the biggest thing that we need to worry about is the longevity of the paint and not the initial errors. I am sorry to see that happened to you, but I am more worried about how the paint will age.

We felt that the machine, that painted the car must of had a error that in the area under the lamp. The detailer commented on how soft and thin the paint was on the car. So, I expect it to be tipical Subaru chip-easy paint. But, if the clear coat is intact then the paint should last the life of the car.

agctr
I suppose with anything brand new there are going to be a few issues straight out of the box. Just make sure you keep on yr dealers back to get it fixed ASAP.
CombatCQB
What would it cost to take the car for another clear coat? Maybe something with more UV protection.
