wrxkilla05
this might be a noob question but I just installed my boost gauge a year after being tuned stage 2, should I be hitting peak boost in every gear?
MasAyinde
Boost is throttle position and RPM dependent. I think that as long as you're at the right combination of those two, you should be hitting target boost regardless of the gear.

iNVAR
Boost is throttle position and RPM dependent. I think that as long as you're at the right combination of those two, you should be hitting target boost regardless of the gear.Gotta jump in here and correct him. This is NOT the case. True, the maps are set up that way (dependent on throttle position and RPM), but you will NOT hit your peak boost levels until the higher gears. When I was stage 1, I did not hit peak boost unless I was in 3rd gear. SOMETIMES 2nd gear. Peak was about 14.5, and the spike was about 15.5. I'm currently at stage 2, and the same holds true: I don't obtain peak boost until 3rd gear. I definitely do not hit it in 1st or 2nd. Peak for my stage 2 is just about 18.5. It was lower with a COBB AP Stage 2, around 16.5. You also have to be in the correct RPM range too, meaning if you're in 3rd, 4th, or 5th and you floor it and you're already at 5000RPM, you're unlikely to see your peak boost, that is of course unless your map is set up that way somehow (unlikely for a stage 2)
JDM SpecB
Why doesn't it Max boost in first and second?
