D1S Retrofit Progress

So, I had a pair of D1S (from Cadillac CTS) OEM looking to be retrofitted. I finally took apart one of my headlights to get the new eyes in. Here's a little progress thread for my build.

 

Here I already took apart the headlights, and started to compare projectors:

Here is the stock metal plate that I planned to modify to hold the D1S projectors because they were different.

After cutting up the plate, I found a bit of alighnment problem in the plate/projector. it sits a bit too much forward compared to the stock projectors. The projector were also sitting a bit too much to the bottom left. I'll be fixing those.

*While taking apart the headlight, i discovered when I had recieved the headlights with broken tabs on the silver housing(or maybe i broke them when taking it apart, but i didn't hear any breaks or cracks when taking the lens off) Is there any way i could reglue (epoxy or superglue?) to broken tabs... or would it be better if i replaced it with a nonbroken housing?

To be honest not sure what silver tabs you are referring too but if I have any plastic breaks it usually ends up that I replace the whole unit...I have yet to find a plastic adhesive/epoxy that actually works well with these harder plastics... Otherwise though it looks like your idea worked out pretty well...just a little adjustment required. I sometimes wish my car had factory projectors...
