Heated seats not working

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Last night I was working on a senior design project and I was driving a buddy of mine and myself to the hardware store, and on the way it got a little chilly so we decided to turn on the heated seats... problem. Neither light for the heated seats turned on when we cranked them up, and after a few minutes of wondering what it could be, the seats still were not warm.

Could this be a blown/disconnected fuse? I'm doubting that the heating elements are KIA due to the pure coincidence that both seats are not working, and that the lights didn't even come on.

FWIW, the seats were working fine this past winter. The last time I used them was maybe a month or two ago

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Well I replaced the 15A fuse, and the seats still did not work. Although the fuse I pulled was not blown, it did have some brown around the teeth of the fuse, so I suspect something may be up with the electrical system.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

Sounds like the elements in the seats have gone bad. It's actually quite common.

Thanks, I'll look into replacing the elements

How did you turn a trip to the hardware store into such a gay little story? Unless you're gay, cool.

...What? Not gay.

I think he means that this is how gay porn stories start. Although they usually end in cleaning up santorum and not trying to fix heated seats.
