d_jamont
Gents, what are the advantages/disadvantages between these two intakes. I'm torn between the cobb (proven, big company) and KStech which is an up and coming company, has good reviews and great quality. Not sure of the advantages between a CAI and the standard short ram intake. Thoughts? Don
rtbrjason
I've had both and kept the KSTech. The Cobb heat soaks faster but runs closer to ambient temp quicker once moving. The KSTech takes longer to heat soak but won't cool back down quite as quickly. KSTech is a bit quieter and looks better IMO. I didn't love the silicone tubing in blue but that is mostly subjective. Either is a fine intake.
Th3Franz
The Cobb without a heat shield sucks in more hot air than the KS Tech KS Tech is less expensive and good quality -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
d_jamont
I suppose you can mitigate the heat soak on the aluminum KS tech with some sort of heat insulating wrap or thermal coating... thanks for the input guys! Cheers, Don
Zac88
you can run the Cobb without a tune
rtbrjason
you can run the Cobb without a tune You can run any intake without a tune if the car isn't tuned. The scaling for the Cobb was hardly different than the Cobb really.
