Temp sensitive Cruise control/EGR?

Recommended Posts

Howdy, youngsters.

So, I've searched around on this and not found anything yet -

My cruise control hates the cold. Seriously. The colder it gets, the more I have to finesse the set switch before it works. Once set, Resume and Cancel work fine. Once it gets down to about 30 degrees F, I can pretty much write off getting to use the cruise at all.

Am I the only one with this problem?

Also, mine has a JDM swap, but the US throttle assembly was used on the Japanese block, so there's an EGR valve. An EGR valve that, with decreasing temperature, increasingly sets P0400. Again, if it gets really cold (as in Snowmegeddon 2011 cold), it just stays on. As it warms up, it back to coming and going...

So, anybody else?

I've not yet tried changing any hoses and the EGR seems to operate. I'm fairly unconcerned with it as I'm pretty sure my winter MPG issues were due to spinning tires getting out of the nightly igloo-parking spaces from Jan-Feb and tires thoroughly depleted of air due to stuck valve caps (aluminum - never again).
