  1. Greetings all...it's been a while since I posted here. I parted ways with my Gen2 GT wagon several years ago due to a series of unfortunate events... I'm now looking at a 2005 GT 5EAT near me with 165,000 miles for $2500. The Facebook seller says it has a "new camshaft and new crank shaft sensors and needs a speed sensor. Good motor and transmission"; leaves out that it has a code P0725 and "goes into limp mode after it warms up". He says the tach and speedo still work. There appears to be no P0700. Seller has no knowledge if it has had the 105k timing service or if HGs have ever been done. I've found a few posts around the webz pointing to a bad speed sensor from the transmission on manual EJ257s (located under the intercooler), bad grounds and, in a worst case, a loose timing belt tensioner leading to a series of unfortunate mechanical failures. So, does the 5EAT have a speed sensor besides the cam & crank sensors that would be indicated by a P0725? Anyone have a part number? Does anyone/anywhere have a diagram showing all of the ground points? Unfortunately, I have to be out of town for an extended period in about 10 days. I was thinking it was just a matter of digging in and getting to a sensor or two, but now it seems like it will involve a tow and a trip to the shop for a diagnostic (out here in the boonies, there aren't many indy Subie shops to help with stuff like this). tia, c w j
  2. and my situation fits gathermewool's to a tee. intermittent check engine light when I first got it a year ago seemed to go away, then came back in cooler weather, eventually permanently through winter (I'm in NY most of the time). it's started back being intermittent as we vacillate between warm and cool daytime temps. Today, ran it up to 4-5k while merging back onto highway (and I have been having a bit more "fun" with it lately) and got a misfire in cyl#4 code. saw somewhere claiming that it's a faulty sensor throwing a fake code. I just want to be able to drive back and forth for work without damaging anything...
  3. Approaching 260,000 on body; hoping around 60K on the engine (JDM).
