ruggerheist
So after 2 1/2 months, i finally have my baby back complete with new short block, new turbo, and stock-turbo back. all in all cost me 2500 SOA covered EVERYTHING! heres my question though... the tech installing thinks i have a nitride crank on the new short block, would that denote an ej257 or is it still an ej255? and to those who berate the dealerships, note I cant speak for any others, Concordville Nissan Subaru has been nothing but awesome through this whole ordeal. big ups to them. respek. amp0412
To my knowledge all new 255 or 257 shortblocks manufactured by subaru now have the nitrided crank. Mine did and it was replaced in jan of 09, it has since been blown up and my motor builder confirmed that it had a nitrided crank in it.
