Lookatmyrust Posted April 10, 2011 Author Share Posted April 10, 2011 fresh pics of todays progress. tomorrow is finishing up the panels to cover the box and then it all comes apart for painting. then if i have time i start the massive amount of wire labeling.. going though the pdf version of the fsm right now. to power everything i have a two computer power supply units. i need the 12 volt rail power. one puts out 13 amps and the other only 8. 13 amps X 12 volts( at least, even under load) =156 watts of power. does anyone know if that would be enough to run the radio, the climate control, and all the backlighting. im thinking it will be close. worknlikeadog Posted April 11, 2011 Share Posted April 11, 2011 you can make the radio work and everything maybe even tie your home ac to the vents. I would use the wheel from the car. also a 5 speed gear box that looks oem for the dash I would also set the radio system up so I could use it without the game with a sub and amp combo. Lookatmyrust Posted April 11, 2011 Author Share Posted April 11, 2011 yea. i need to go the junk yard to pull the center consul from a 5spd outback and the shifter stuff. i ahve no idea what it all looks like or how im gonna hook that all up. and get the gauge cluster out of it and set it to 000,000, plus my needles in that one are all mess up from tacking them off so much cause of my old after market gauge faces. i will try very hard to use the stock steering colum but it mounts to the crossmember that goes from a pillar to a pillar, and the dash mounted to that too. wiring should be fun though. i wanna use it so bad so i can use the ignition on it for starting all the stuff. i need to get a new deck. i think the one in it is broke casue when it folds down it never stays down. it just keeps folding up and down. so i think ill pull the oem one up of the outback too. unless i can find my old oem one. or buy a new deck for my new car and use the oem one out of that. for the vents. i may get to that. but i just though out the stock piping for the vents. i think ill use computer fans for the vents. and run the power though the dial on the climate control unit.
