seiyafan
CR rated Sumitomo HTR A/S P01 (W) one of the best UHP All-season, which earns an "Excellent" rating in noise category and "Very good" in ride. However Tirerack.com gave it the lowest rating in both categories here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/chartDisplay.jsp?ttid=134
BAC5.2
Tire Rack is a much better source of info than CR. RabidWombat
CR usually does a very scientific measurement of things like noise and compares the results to some sort of average which takes into account real-world differences. If are 4 tires had noise levels that were very similar, CR could rate it as excellent indicating that it would be difficult for you to know the difference. Tire Rack commented that the noise was only slightly worse than the others, so that's consistent. Similarly, Tire Rack reports basically identical ride numbers for all 4 tires they tested, so that could be consistent with CR. You may also get variation due to the test car used. outahere
...........You may also get variation due to the test car used. And variation due to tire size. TR tested 17", CR tested 18".
krzyss
Do not forget different weights assigned to different characteristics. It can change overall standing too. Krzys
