spartan
I am thinking of doing something like this: http://namelessperformance.com/products/subaru/2011-subaru-wrxsti-sedan-axleback-exhaust/ I am gonna buy these tips:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dual-Angled-Stainless-Exhaust-3-5-Tip-PONTIAC-TRANS-AM-/130491689697?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e61e92ae1 http://i.ebayimg.com/17/!B-riLRgEWk~$(KGrHqV,!iEEzLTcN8zTBM9(Q5cqRg~~0_12.JPG Does anyone have experience with muffler deletes? I know it will be louder, which I am ok with, just wondering if I should look at a short resonator as well. I would just pull off the mufflers now, but I am thinking that would give me a lot of drone that wouldn't be there because the exahaust would be exiting under the car, rather than out the back. I think that nameless performance even mentioned that they are looking for a volunteer to let them test fit on a LGT to create a system. Anyways, it will be a while before I get it complete, but just figured I would post up my idea to give me some motivation.

Rick
I thought about doing the same thing with a set of Magnaflow tips, and having a small magnaflow muffler welded at the midpipe. My reason was mostly for looks. I've never liked the way my Xo2's stick so far out past the bumper, or most of the other axlebacks for that matter. alaskajoel
Those tips look familiar:lol: http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd71/alaskajoel/DSC07897.jpg
spartan
Did you have the tips welded onto a muffler or straight pipe? Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it?
alaskajoel
Shop welded them onto stock cans. They are nice looking tips, but are a little large for the cutouts.
Drift Motion
do anyone know where to find muffler "tip" like this, but longer? something like this http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/uploads/monthly_09_2009/post-60590-12524578694207_thumb.jpg not as big tho... spartan
I recieved a message back from the seller of the tips stating that they are 7.25" wide. Time to go measure the cutouts on my wagon...
spartan
They should work better, they are narrower, staggered and cheaper. http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/afterthoughtsauto_2145_9669400
goneskiian
Wagon cut-outs are wider than the sedan. Look up what praedet used. He put dual tips on stock cans on his wagon and they look great.
spartan
Yeah I saw his thread. His tips were also staggered, which was also part of the reason I got the ones I did.
coSTIgan-GT
I have muffler deletes (actually forced pipes through my x02s) and a 3" powerstick welded in for a resonator. Loud, but sounds good. Not too loud in the car.
blk mk8
i spent the day at the muffler shop and no dual tip i found there or dual tip muffler would fit the cut out unless you dropped it below the cut out. i was worried it would look funny with it so low. i ended up just going with single round angle cut tips. side note they had those dual tips there at the shop and they did not fit. after doing the axle back it is quite enough i think a muffler delete with dual tip would be just enough noise.
