dangordon0128
Hey Team, Learning to turn wrenches on my 92 wagon. Got the hub out to press bearings in and now that its back from the shop I want to clean it up before tossing it back in. So, sorry for the lunatic question, but now that the shiny new bearings are in, I don't want to screw them up. Should I just wipe it down with a towel and call it a day? I pulled the ball joint and want to clean that cavitiy up as well... is there a product I should use or just elbow grease?
Legacy Wagon
I just wipe them with a towel, stuff them with lithium grease and call it a day.
Subytech
Yup a towel and elbow grease, although i would clean out the ball joint cavity as best you can with some sand paper, they are known to get rusty and making ball joint removal a PITA. Also i wouldn't add to much grease to the bearings they come already packed with grease, I would just lube up you inner seals well and reassemble, and hopefully they installed a front seal?
