Feldman
ended up with 4th gen leather heated power seats in my first gen. http://www.ritzpix.com/net/ImageDisp.aspx?filespec=275AF5D15BFC352DDFADEB96B7C5AA472E68455ED7A7DA0C9FA38F40129533B688FBDBEB0DE65C6D3F8F0D9E4B39B274F12E37EE93E581846250767CA55F324D987784F348B1EF65D6E23245C4D080FC28D21F4420C3F822C339CB5881CF53AA4F46A752D1BF982EB628ED67ED95A74A&lastmoddate=2/20/2011%2012:14:13%20PM&maxSize=650&w=0E84580E605FF9F824F39B1A9DE1C0F0&o=84992940706A9292058E96C77C62829F&a=FC3A0F671226B52DDF03A23F09844772&rkey=984&SlideShowHeight=440&SlideShowWidth=660&SlideShowMatte=F5F2F5 http://www.ritzpix.com/net/ImageDisp.aspx?filespec=7DB6834193DDA1160F5C502AC9B7C8940AE4A6FFE837E00A7CA4B6EB56C1E7672124542B4240FFA392651A9D61FE4B160D745BF3E80BB78065B471B3BCD40A0E3EEBECD0A687EEB8D457B76C44507951F040ED13BD7E41239416C6E0BC426F837097A062B4C8C7A2DE9D019DCF9C508B&lastmoddate=2/20/2011%2012:14:50%20PM&maxSize=650&w=C0A3F303CAAFC5BA312D2E761B286A21&o=9CEAABCFB24E7929E3FBB7570405FF55&a=EB48757EFEF2F6B34A59857CCF070AEB&rkey=256&SlideShowHeight=440&SlideShowWidth=660&SlideShowMatte=F5F2F5 Used the 4th gen wiring diagrams to figure out which wires go where and test wired them to a spare battery in my garage and got power and heat to work on both. Now all that's left is to actually run the wiring in the car which shouldn't be too hard. Everything went amazingly smooth, three out of 4 mounting holes matched up and I'm going to drill a hole for the 4th although they are sitting pretty firm on 3 bolts right now. Anyway, just thought I'd share

Legacy Wagon
I wish mine was a manual :/ I have 98 RS seats in my Legacy. They were butt ugly in the RS, but they seem to fit really well with the wagon.
BAC5.2
I had RS seats in my 94 Turbo. I loved them. The black/black checkerboard looked great in that car. Good find on the 4th gen seats! Did you fix the tail light too? Feldman
I had RS seats in my 94 Turbo. I loved them. The black/black checkerboard looked great in that car. Good find on the 4th gen seats! Did you fix the tail light too? yeah it was the stupidest thing. I went to the junkyard and got the whole switch for the headlights, turn signal and parking lights and it still didnt fix it. So i thought maybe i should just try another fuse even though the one that was in there did not look blown and i checked it like 5 times. Anyway long story short, different fuse solved the problem and i guess the old fuse was blown way off in the corner. Even after i knew it was blown i couldn't see it and no I don't have a vision problem haha So i took the switch back and put the credit towards the seats then tuesday i started looking at the front suspension and it looks like it swapps over with the first gen top mounts. Those are sitting in the back of my trunk. Now i need to find a rear setup that will swap over to stiffen up the rear.

sleeper2001
WOW!...been wondering if I could do this with my 1990 legacy. OK....time to start looking for some tan leather. Did the 4th gen come in a tan color?
F-WDC Spec B
feldman you might want to find a 12VDV relay timer (time delay relay) so you dont keep the power on for longer then a set ammount of time.
Feldman
WOW!...been wondering if I could do this with my 1990 legacy. OK....time to start looking for some tan leather. Did the 4th gen come in a tan color? Yeah there is a tan and black leather option as well as cloth heated seats feldman you might want to find a 12VDV relay timer (time delay relay) so you dont keep the power on for longer then a set ammount of time. Im no electrician but i wired the relay in so it switches power on with the ignition in the run position. Shouldn't draw current any other time right? seat heater switches turn off in any other position and the seats don't move. am i good or do i need to do anything else to avoid problems? sleeper2001
Does anyone know the interchangeability with the rear seats? Although front leather seats would be sic.....rear also makes my car a nearly brand new car.

sleeper2001
You mean the rear seats of a 04 WRX will work in a 1990 legacy? Only 2004 or is that just the only one you are sure?

sleeper2001
Hey Feldman....did those seats have airbags in them? If so, what did you do about them? Concerned if they are not hooked up, a static charge can deploy them.

Well when it gets warmer your set heaters will still be on unless you forgot to mention you put a switch to turn on an off the heaters. oh and for the air bag issue. just look at the wiring diagram and ground all the wires for the air bags. I've got the witches wired in and installed in the area under the center console. I have full control as if they were still in the LGT.

Feldman
ohh nevermind.. ignore me. No worries, I didn't even think of the possibility of doing it without the OEM switches but i guess it could be done with a 5 position switch or less i guess if you wanted to lose some intermediate settings
speezly
I found a 99 legacy outback limited wagon in a junkyard. it has beautiful black leather trim. Can i fit the whole trim setup into my 93? everything looks about the same size, i know the front seats fit but that about the rear wagon seat in a sedan? aslo will the center console and door trim fit? this sounds excessive, but i can grab it all real cheap so why not? BTW,they also have the brown cloth interior on a 2 door impreza if anyone is interested.
