lee07
So how much would it be around for parts and labor for just one side. Would it be o.k to just replace the one bad axle or should you replace both?
Max Capacity
one axle should be about $200.-250 I would guess. I only replaced my left front when the boot tore. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. VermontGT
It depends on whether you're buying full retail or getting a discount through a parts store. Labor should be no more than 1.5 hours. Assuming you can get the lower ball joint out easily and the axle nut comes free with no fuss, it can be done in about 15 minutes. This is a front axle, correct? If not it's a whole other ball game. Take the labor and double it, per side, for rear axles (depending on the model). And no, there is no reason to replace any other axles unless the boots are ripped and slinging grease or making clicking noises.
