dr_sharp
Lets hear it! FYI... my car ran a 13.6 on stg 2 power. It ran a 13.3 with weight reduction. I never "launch" my car. I just added a racerx FMIC, but don't have a tune for it and am still running stock airbox. I think I have a chance, but time will tell us very soon lol
gotsugg
So you are road tuned by Keith on a TMIC? what PSI are you running? What exactly is Stage 1 on the STI,,,, Cobb AP with a Stage 1 map? STI
dr_sharp
STi has OTS cobb map. I am dyno tuned by Keith with the stock TMIC. I JUST went front mount this weekend. Before the FMIC, I was hitting ~18psi max, 13psi redline; now I'm hitting ~17psi max, 12psi redline. lol
NSFW
It will probably come down to a question of who is willing to launch and shift the hardest.
E-Tank
Your 5speed will give you the advantage. I think you'll take it.

LosAngelesLGT
Pics of how you fit a FMIC with the stock airbox? Easy to find, RacerX is well documented: http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2829335&postcount=13 http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2829335&postcount=14 That it in an 07-09 and mine was the first 05-06 with a RacerX FMIC and OEM airbox. dr_sharp
I don't think the 5 speed would be at an advantage anyway. The 6 speed crosses the 1/4 at the top of 4th. With enough mods, one would have to shift to 5th tho. lol
TRSCobra
The 5 speed is the reason car and driver gets 0-60 in 4.7 and 1/4 mile in 13.5 out of the '09 WRX vs. 5.1 and 13.6 out of the '08 STI. Very slight advantage, but still not bad for being some 40hp less.
dr_sharp
Car and Driver is the reason Car and Driver ****s up all their tests. 0-60, sure thats one less shift. 1/4, NO. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/help-me-understand-why-subarus-so-slow-road-course-153089.html?t=153089 v6 mustang faster than an STi? Yes, thank you for confirming your incompetence. lol
Drew888
I have actually done this with my nephews 07 STI (mind you it's almost 400# lighter). I barely pulled on him until he went stg 2 then he easily pulled on me. Then I now pull on him (slightly) with an HTA-68. The 08+STI's are stronger. Our largest disadvantage is weight and narrow rims. I would never ever sell my Spec-B if it were 400# lighter and easily fit 255's. Yes, thank you for confirming your incompetence. I suppose Road and Track messes up all their tests too then? Seeing as how a Mustang V6 gave them a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds, 0-100 13.5 seconds, and 1/4 mile in 14.0 @ 101.4MPH. The STI gave them a 0-60 run of 5.0 seconds, 0-100 of 14.1 seconds, and 1/4 mile in 13.6 @ 98.2MPH. The WRX netted 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, 0-100 in 13.5 seconds, and the 1/4 mile in 13.8 @ 101.0MPH. On the slowing down and going around corners side the V6 Mustang stopped from 60MPH and 80MPH (115ft, and 199ft) shorter than either the WRX (124ft, and 221ft) or the STI (119ft, and 209ft), pulled more G's on the skid pad (.92 Mustang, .87 WRX, .90 STI), and had a higher slalom speed than the WRX and was hot on the heels of the STI (69.2MPH Mustang, 67.0MPH WRX, 69.8MPH STI. Oh noes! A V6 Mustang is faster from 0-100 than an STI, and so is a WRX, a V6 Mustang is faster up top than an STI or a WRX (higher trap speed), stops more quickly than either, has more lateral grip, and nearly matches an STI at changing directions. Or does Road and Track take bribes too since they don't conform to Subaru lover's desired test results?
