cas5259
All, I'm in the middle of a timing belt replacement on a 2.5i SOHC. I'm up to the point where I have replaced everything and am ready to put the new belt on. I can get the crank and cams lined up with the belt partially on, but when it comes time to get the belt over the toothed idler on the bottom, there is just no room to slip it on. I've tried a few combinations of removing pulleys, but I never have enough room. Thanks, Chris
Osei
There is a bolt that goes through the crankcase by the oil pump. Leave the lower crank pulley off. Line up marks, put on pulley so the teeth mesh. Use a long screwdriver and you can fulcrum the pulley in to line up the bolt hole. The bolt will be hard to see when the engine is not out, but feel for it, its there. O.
