Rear Diffusers?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I don't think our car needs a diffuser other than for aesthetic purposes.. or for the few here that regularly race their car..

I can see how getting a piece to smooth the airflow under the car to help decrease our drag under there.. but for an aggressive diffuser.. daily drivers don't need them.. and I don't think the BTA actually does anything, since the vanes aren't intruding into the airflow.. if I can apply aviation aerodynamics to automotive aerodynamics... then don't the vanes need to start much further under the car, like in the Porsche 968 pictures?

i thought i had mentioned i don't need a functional one, because my car is slow as shit. guess that got lost in translation somewhere.

If you are looking for "non" functional rear diffuser....

That almost looks like the skid plate I had on my marauder. It reduced drag and deformation of the stock bumpers @ freeway speeds. Stare at the rear bumpers on town cars, taxis, and older cop cars that don't have em @ freeway speeds to get a better idea. They also come on the Police Interceptors to prevent the bumpers from being ripped off when they hop/straddle curbs. I thought about it for MPG purposes only on the leggy but gave up. The real one stoplight posted would screw me up in the snow.

Is the other side solid or is it hollow catching air?

I've got something in the works. ETA from first production will be 2-3 weeks. I'm signing up for vendor this month and I will need YOUR support!

You've got my support my N/A brethren :) Very interested to see what it'll look like. If you start a new thread in the vendors section, put the link here too to spread the word.

I know this is probably premature...but...is yours going to be model year specific? '05-'07, '08-'09, '10+?
