Jeffzguy
So I went out after work and started my car, it then died after a few seconds and then when I tried to fire it again nothing happened. This always happens where sometimes (could be on the first try of the day or the fifth) I turn the key and nothing happens, I dont even think the starter clicks forward. Then it takes like 15 minutes or some severe jiggling of the key and it finally out of the blue fires up. This is due to a bad ignition switch or bad starter? Drift Motion
maybe fuel pump? can you hear the pump priming before you start the car?
Jeffzguy
I don't know but I would think that's not an issue as it wont even turn over. Unless somehow the engine won't even try if the fuel pump is out...

Jeffzguy
That's true I do think my fuel pump is going out but I also think my key switch or starter is too...
amorgan93
ignition switch most likely. My moms 1999 Dodge Durango will do the same exact thing. Or the starter Solenoid, im not sure if they are built into the starters on subarus or not, but on my 77 ford its a seperate component. But it probably is the ignition switch. Jeffzguy
Ok, well I guess its time for new locks anyways because the door ones don't work. I mean they do but it almost twists the key in half before it unlocks...

Osei
double check your battery connections. A loose terminal will do similar. O.
