jamesm113
How does one reset OBDII codes? I've tried pulling the battery for a few minutes, but P0400 keeps showing up on my scanguage, but the CEL hasn't come on again. Thanks!
Zues Marine
you can clear the codes with the scangauge.. but theyll just come back until you fix the problem
ehsnils
And the P0400 is the EGR malfunctioning. It's probably filled with soot (or the pipe leading to it is). Way to common problem. One of those "features" that we really don't want. But at least it isn't causing any technical problems - it's just an emissions issue.
jamesm113
Yea, I figured out the issue - the backpressure transducer (or vacuum modulator, depending on where you look) is bad (doesn't hold a vacuum on the bottom port). The new part is on the way, but since the CEL isn't coming on anymore, i'd like to clear the codes - the scanguage's clear doesn't seem to be working that well - the code just comes back up after I do a code scan again. Gotta pass smog by the 20th.
