Lock diff

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I was doing a few little things under the hood today, and noticed a fuse was missing out of a small box. the small box had LOCK DIFF written on the top.. Should i fill that box with a fuse? and if so, what size?

And what does it activate/deactivate exactly?

What difference will it make to economy?

What difference will i notice in the car drivability?

JDM 95 GT twin turbo, going by his user info there.

I'm assuming the car's an auto? i imagine it'd be for the centre dif. My guess is chuck a fuse in when you are in low traction environments. I imagine it's similar to the 4WD fuse auto's have.

That's just my guess.

That's awesome! I wish we had a locking center diff like that where it would be really easy to just swap something in there like a fuse; there's a mod for us usdm guys to make a "dummy" switch that'll activate a solenoid in the trans to lock the center diff, but it takes some know-how to do it.
