according to the "car and driver" magazine:

Not to be outdone by its newly widened little brother, the STI now gets a sedan body style with a big rear wing, Underneath, both the four door and the hatch get a dose of suspension tweakage that aims to increase grip and improve ride and handling, including a 0.2-inch lowering, thicker front and rear anti-roll bars, higher spring rates all around, pillow-ball busings for the front suspension, and stiffer rear-subframe busings. The standard 18" wheel option shaves more than 17 lbs compared with the 2010 rims, and the lighter-still, optional BBS 18s are back, though not in a good color.

I'm always a fan of the STI sedan body and big wing... though, I can't afford to buy any :(

The STi in the "ring" was a slightly tweaked JDM version. There is another thread in here that details the differences. It was the 2.0 with a larger turbo. But after watching the video, the STi is definitely a contender for my next car.

the tan leather brought the car a new level of luxury look (old blue was sweet also)... Love the big wing and wide body too

+1

Shame I probably won't be able be able to afford the car due to insurance, then again maybe insurance is cheaper in Nevada vs Southern California

That isnt a USDM car. That's the JDM 2011 Subaru WRX STI A-Line Sedan

http://blogs.insideline.com/straightline/2010/07/2011-subaru-wrx-sti-a-line-sedan-oh-to-be-automatic-and-wingless.html

The A-Line isn't new, of course; it's the automatic-transmission version of the STI that Subaru sells only in Japan. Instead of the customary JDM 2.0-liter engine, it has a turbocharged, 2.5-liter boxer-four just like the North American-spec STI, plus a version of the five-speed automatic used in H6 versions of the Legacy and Outback (and, yes, the beloved 2005-2009 Legacy GT). And unlike other Japanese-spec WRX STIs, it doesn't have Recaro seats; rather it makes a luxury play with less agressively bolstered leather seats.

So looking at these photos got us thinking...

--> Wing or no wing on the STI sedan? Remember, the wing improves aerodynamics and results in a slightly higher top speed.

--> Anyone want an automatic-equipped STI? Subaru's five-speed auto isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but maybe it doesn't matter with 300 hp...

you should read the "consumer report" for brand new car, as they didn't recommend the EVO, infact they recommended the STI. Mitsubishi engine is just lousy

Uhhh... how recent is that article? The 4B11 engine for the Evo X is quite bulletproof. Link to the article perhaps?

That is funny because the consumerreports.org site as well as a few others are saying quite the opposite. Perhaps you read it for a different Mitsubishi? That 4B11 engine is a God-send for Mitsubishi versus their older and crappier engine they had in the EVO VIII.

I read the article for the evo, lancer, and ralliart! It is the consumer report for new car 2011, I remember the only good thing they said about the new Evo was acceleration..

Ralliart closed their doors...

I am still having a hard time reading the same review at other consumer buyer's guides and reports. I guess I will go to a Barnes and Noble and find the article. Figuratively speaking, you could throw sand in the 4B11 and it would still run like a champ.

Now did the article say over long term?
