adam987 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Hi all I recently bought a 1991 Legacy wagon. It runs pretty smooth the engine makes a ticking sound when starting up and warming up which i am unsure is normal. My big question is when i got the car the FWD fuse was in i took it out and it runs fine when driving straight but when i Make a sharp turn the back wheels make a crunching or shuddering sort of a sound. A mechanic told me its a common problem and its a faulty sensor in the automatic transmission? Just wondering if someone can shed some light onto exactly what sensor he might be talking about or what else the problem might be thats causing it and any way to fix it Cheers Adam
Platinum_Racing Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Sounds like the transfer duty solenoid. http://www.endwrench.com/pdf/drivetrain/Ft4EATTransmissionsW98.pdf
