Prime Power
Anyone know of any cut out kits I can buy to cut into my bumper to put on a legacy exhaust? Also I need the wagon version not the sedan right? Wish they had an option for my so I didn't have to cut.
zmarko
The JDM wagon bumper has cutouts, and I know at least one member here has done the swap (not sure how much it cost him though). Looks good though....all OBXT's should have come with them.
BAC5.2
I wonder if the USDM Legacy GT Wagon bumper would swap? I think you can get JDM Outback bumper covers from Japanparts. http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php?dealer=1&car=141&middle=2&small=8&page=2 Looks like it's ~$1000 plus shipping for the painted bumper with mounting hardwear! That is a TON, considering that a replacement USDM bumper is like 1/3 that cost. Still, if I ever get rear-ended, I'm getting one of those! OhBe1
You don't really need them. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/lgt-stuff-installed-25873.html?t=25873&highlight=%22lgt+stuff+installed%22 06LOB2.5i MT, JDMRSB, GYTTs, HPS, LGT Mufflers & Leather Wheel, SubiMomo Knob, Inalfa Moonroof, Clutch Switch Bypass, DeDRLd, DeChimed, & Straight Headrest. pachilla
JDM / EDM bumper cover don't fit over USDM bumper re-bar, unless you want to trim/remove the bar.
BAC5.2
But the JDM/EDM bumper bars fit under USDM bumpers? pachilla
But the JDM/EDM bumper bars fit under USDM bumpers? er...why? BTW: JDM doesn't even have rear re-bars, the rear bumper is tiny and useless.
BAC5.2
Because I am trying to use an Australian Domestic Market tow bar on the back of my Outback. pachilla
Because I am trying to use an Australian Domestic Market tow bar on the back of my Outback. If you are talking about trailer hitch.... EDM/JDM version (made by Thule) is different than USDM. USDM legacy wagon / Outback have different placement of the trailer hitch mounting points on the frame rail. BAC5.2
Neither of the hitches you mention are what I'm talking about. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fitting-tow-bar-aus-liberty-gt-40784.html?t=40784 That is for the Legacy Wagon, but they make the same one that is Outback specific. The reinforcing plates that goes under the rear frame rail (where the exhaust heat shields sit) may not bolt right to the USDM version.
BAC5.2
Oh really? That blows. What makes you think that's the case?
