Woodstock Posted June 22, 2010 Share Posted June 22, 2010 This has been bothering me for quite sometime now. Is it normal to hear "whistle/hissing noise" while building boost? I hear "whistle/hissing noise" around 1500- 2000 rpm and then it dies down when I get around 3k rpm. Is that normal? I can hear it clearly when I put my windows down. I have (in order of adding mods) AEM CAI, DP and Cat-back exhaust, FMIC, stage 2. I have been hearing the "whistle/hissing noise" way before I added the FMIC. I found this noise increased greatly when I swapped in my twinscroll turbo and installed an AVO panel filter. At first I was like but now I'm like . I have AVO panel filter and can hear the sound clear. Love it too Not to steal the thread but - The twinscroll you're referring to - is that the equal length headers you sell these days ? I thought was caused by a end tank leak. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
