Dual mode A/C

I drove a 2010 Outback the other day while my 09 was in for warranty work, and noticed that they have a "dual" mode for the auto climate control that slaves the passenger side temp to the drivers side.

 

Just to be certain, that doesn't exist on any of the pre-'10 cars, right?

 

My only gripe about the climate control in my 09 is that the driver and passenger side can't be linked for temp.

 

Maybe I'll make my own dual mode and just get a large rubber band to loop over both temp knobs. Turn one, turn both.

i just bought an 08 GT and i was suprised to find out i couldnt control both at the same time.... even my poo-poo TSX had dual mode!

I'm pretty sure that I need to do that with mine, an '05.

Ohh, I might give the rubber band idea a try. Never thought of that. Any of you radio hackers want to come up with an electronic way to link the two? I'd donate to that cause.

That is definitely annoying. Good thing they fixed it for the new models. Subscribed for fix on pre 2010 models.
