vettez062002
got code P0420 and P0851 my car has a STI up-pipe and greddy catback. I will be getting a non catted DP soon. I also did the 2.2ohm resistor mod for the up pipe egt. my car is a 05 Legacy gt 5 speed with 76K miles. Can I just put a resitor in the o2?? any ideas why I got a cat code?? and I have no idea why P0851 came on.. I have a 5 speed...
NSFW
any ideas why I got a cat code?? Because there is no longer a cat in your up-pipe? (I'm assuming you had one before, and now you don't.)
LosAngelesLGT
Pretty sure the po420 code is too ganja smoking by the installer. Got to try to avoid those! Just ribbing you bro, but seriously... PO420 is cat converter code if I am not mistaken, as NSFW said, so that leads me to believe that the resistor is maybe not making contact? Does the resistor fix look just like: http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2837262&postcount=1 If so I am sorry but I dunno...
NSFW
The resistor mod is for the EGT sensor, but the cat code is based on the rear O2 sensor.
ktmrider
Did you install any maps/tunes? P0851 is a neutral safety switch code, maybe the connector got knocked loose/off when you did the cat-back. P0420 usually pops up when deleting the post-turbo cat however if you have high miles removing the UP cat could indicate the other one is toast. LosAngelesLGT
^Isnt the neutral safety switch sensor on the top of the tranny?
