BAC5.2
What kind of NVH increase have you guys noticed? The car does NOT Like sharp changes in pavement, even with the stock suspension. So driveways that are slightly raised over the road surface, sounds terrible unless you creep up them. Figured LCA's might help. If your getting a knock going into the driveway, 9 out 10 times it's end links. Get those cheap OEM's out of there and putting some solid ones in. I went with Perrin's. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. jmun671
Although I'm a 3G WRX owner I'd like to add to this since our suspensions are very similar. I've had the Whiteline version installed and have used them for over 4k miles. The passenger side bushing started to separate from the press sleeve; I noticed this after making a recent U-turn and heard/felt a loud thump from the front suspension. I rarely drove my car over the past year. I recalled that Whiteline has a 1-yr warranty on parts so I emailed them pics & details of my situation. I was about 1-week over due and they still sent me a replacement kit without hassle! Because of this customer service alone I will continue to patronize Whiteline. Very satisfied with their service (FYI I deal with Whiteline AUS directly because of my location). Service aside, the bushings are great and they improve road feel. NVH increase is minimal and I got 2.7 degrees +caster out of them which helped me in autox. Before the turn-in was very delayed and spongy. There is a definite decrease in brake dive & squat that I noticed. Dramatic improvement now with the LCA installed. As a side note the new kit looks revised and will be installing them soon. Hope this helps. J
ninjakc
The local Sub dealer wants 440 to replace my bushings. Not sure if its both front and rear, they just recommended "bushings". But since the OEM are 9 bucks at FredBean my bushings and I are both getting ripped.
AZP Installs
Well don't forget there is a book time to replace the LCA Bushings, and that's probably how the dealer is getting the cost up there. We charge about $200 for the labor to do the bushings and it takes about 2.5-3hrs to do it. Where are you located? If it's the NY/NJ area, hit us up. -mike

Thanks for pointing that out I meant to type 6.7 degrees total caster. Fat fingered that number I guess. I'll take any caster I can get! J

You will want to replace both the Front Lower Control Arm REAR Bushings and the INNER bushings. Currently the Whiteline adjustable caster LCA Rear bushings are great but out of stock. The alternative is the AVO modified (non-adjustable) Rear bushings. For the inners you want the WL inner LCA Bushings. We sell either package (Rear + Inner) for $180 shipped. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. alessandro132
J Speed make a solid silicon caster-adjustable rear LCA bush which is made in Japan and very popular with the Liberty guys in Australia (and am running this in my car). Benefits are that it is solid construction so requires no lubricating and comes with three different-sized shims to vary caster adjustment. Not the cheapest out there ($240 AUD) but another alternative. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k97/faatgt/jbushes.jpg
ras06LGT
Just installed the AVO offset rear bushings and Whiteline front inner bushings this past weekend. I was going to go with the Whiteline ALK, but as Mike said, they are out of stock right now and I didn't want to wait a month. I'm very happy with how the car drives now. The front end tightened up considerably, and the extra caster is really nice. Less steering correction needed, and better straight-line holding. I don't see much benefit from the adjustable caster options, as I would most likely run them at max setting anyways. I did notice an increase in NVH, especially over expansion strips on the freeway. I don't find it objectionable at all, and the benefits of the better bushings far outweight the drawbacks. I'm already used to them, and don't really notice anymore. I think my total install time was ~5 hours, from car up to car down, and driving to a buddy's house to use his press.

lingling1337
Those J Speed look really nice. I had Group N before and now I'm on the WALK, set to full caster. Steering is nice but I just hope they hold up.
JamiSteven
Sorry to bump this from the dead but can anyone chime in as to the longevity of their choice in LCA bushings? Ive read horror stories on nearly all of them, whiteline's splitting after 2k, Superpro's after 1k, AVO as well... Ide like to only do this once if possible :-)

The AVOs I haven't seen any issues with the AVOs on the LGTs so far. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/153798190.jpg Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Enthusiasts since 2001.
