Fog lights: are they useful?

For most cars, driving lights are more show than actual benefit. You can tell the difference if you look for it, but the difference isn't major.

I love the looks of fogs.

if its snowing or very foggy outside, the fog lights help if modded only to run by themselves. Headlights create to much glare and if i'm crawling around at 30-40 mph, the low position of the fogs are very helpful. I have yellow overlays on them to reduce percieved glare too.

And personally I think that the fog lights are rather useless. More for look than for function.

I like them in snow, and because you get a wider beam pattern than headlights. Very useful for pothole avoidance.

I think they help in the rain when the road markings are hard to see. But I'll admit I got them mainly because the blank trim looked silly.
