Madjik_Man
I drive mostly short mixed city/rural drives with a tiny stretch of highway in between. I average 26 mpg. The best I ever got: all highway 65-75 mph was 34 mpg
06Scooby
Wow I can't believe how much of a diff the manual-auto makes. I have a 2.5i wagon with the 5MT and i've average around 25-26 around town (we don't have traffic here really) since i've owned the car. The Trip Computer is usually around .5-1 mpg optimistic. My best ever highway is when I went to LA and back and averaged 31 mpg for the whole trip. The car seems to run in a sweet spot if I set the cruise at 73-74 mph. One thing I'll say is that I've noticed though the brand of tires can make a difference and the rack on the car. I got better gas mileage when I had the stock yokohama's. I had dunlops next and it took the highway mileage down about 1-2 mpg. And with the new Conti DWS's it seems to be doing a little better. When I have my snowboard rack on the car, it takes it down 1-2 mpg accross the board.
